Our church was founded in 1978 and from its inception, we dedicated our work to a realization of a holistic congregation and community. Cooperating and coordinating with political action groups, civic organizations, and health care institutions is a central part of what we do for and with our community and our congregation. We joined Bronx Health REACH from its inception because w saw that the mission was something we had in common. We have always worked to be a loud and active voice against social injustice and health disparity and as we advocate on behalf of minority communities, we enjoy the excellent company of coalition members, striving for the same things. We sponsor health ministries for our members with a goal of realizing a better informed congregation. We know the value of having people who take ownership of their health care at home, in the doctor’s office, and in the hospital. We have seen positive changes in the lives and in the health of many of our members but we also see that there is still so much to do. Bronx Health REACH has enhanced our determination and empowered so many people. We will keep fighting for more change and we will keep doing this work together.
